President's Executive Cabinet Committee Meeting
Amy Parsons, Deputy General Counsel, has now joined the Executive Cabinet Committee.
Budget Discussion — Possible FY10 budget scenarios were discussed. There will be ongoing discussion coming from the State and JBC before anything is finalized.
State Classified Grading System — The state requirements for the state classified grading system were reviewed and no policy changes were made.
President's Cabinet Meeting
Extension Update — Increased collaboration will result in more urban involvement in extension. There will also be continuing collaboration with CU Denver Health Sciences and the University of Colorado — Colorado Springs.
Athletics Update — Facilities projects are on schedule and in budget. The new football schedule was just released. It can be found at: http://csurams.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/csu-m-footbl-sched.html The CSU/CU game will be 9/5, the Ag Day game will be 9/12, and 10/10 will be the Homecoming game.
Public Relations Update — During CSU’s Recylemania the campus increased its recycling 8% over last year. The group is looking at ways to implement an energy savings campaign.
IT/Library Update — Students were successfully transitioned to Google Apps. April 28th is the start of Kuali Days with further training to happen in May. July 1 is the target date for transitioning from Delphi and CIS. April 15 will be the Libraries on the Plains event.
International Programs Update — The International Colloquium will be 9/9-9/11 this year. Federal requirements for international students are being reviewed for changes.
Music Building Completion — The music building has been completed and is now a very high quality student learning environment that will foster increased interaction amongst students.
Student Affairs Update — Blanche Hughes will be chairing the search for a new Chief of Police. Next week is the ASCSU student government election. May 1st is the Joint Advocacy Graduation Celebration. Interim President Tony Frank will be attending this event and Cabinet is also invited to attend.
Celebrate Colorado State — Joyce Berry reminded the group that Celebrate Colorado State is April 28th.
Graduate Studies Update — Graduate applications are up 11% so far this year, with a 13% increase in under-represented students, and a 9% increase in international students. International Fulbright/Ford Fellowship applicants are up significantly. Peter Dorhout will be chairing a committee on Post Doctorate Fellows to review support, benefits, and professional development. This committee will include representation from Faculty Council, Benefits, OSP and VPR representation. The Library-IT Task Force has three meetings remaining.
Research Update — CSU is actively engaged in stimulus funding proposals for research grants and additional grants for this year are likely to be funded.
VTH Open House — There will be a Veterinary Teaching Hospital Open House this Friday and Saturday.
International Travel Form — This form has been completed and will be available shortly. An online version will be available for the pre-trip document.
CSU-Global — Now has statutory authority from the State and final assurances will be sent to CCHE to meet all deadlines.
