2008-2009 Presidential Ambassadors

Mission

The mission of Presidential Ambassadors is to promote the strategic plan of Colorado State University through a leadership and service organization that embodies diversity and engages the unique talents of CSU students in support of institutional advancement.

Founded in 2006, the CSU Presidential Ambassadors program promotes the positive image of Colorado State University by engaging a diverse group of student leaders to represent the Office of the President at designated events and related University advancement activities.

Members of this group are highly-skilled and experienced student leaders selected to represent the University on a volunteer basis. Through planned interactions with University constituents, Presidential Ambassadors advance public understanding of the University and her students’ role in its growth and success. By sharing the story of their unique CSU experiences, Ambassadors validate the philanthropic contributions of donors, alumni, friends, faculty, staff and the student body. A distinguished and one-of-a-kind leadership development opportunity for CSU students, the Presidential Ambassadors program offers its members a chance to network with important University constituents and enhance their public relations, event planning and professional etiquette skills while engaging in service to the CSU community.

In direct support of Colorado State's vision to set the standard for the 21st century land-grant institution, the Presidential Ambassadors connect those audiences most critical to the institution’s success to the heart of its vitality — our students.

Example Ambassador Activities

  • Represent the University and the President as official hosts for signature experiences with internal and external constituencies, such as:
    • President’s Fall Address & University Picnic
    • Homecoming & Family Weekend events
    • 1870 Recognition Dinner
  • Plan and host a Special Olympics Tournament on the CSU campus for local K-12 students.
  • Plan and host a CSU student leadership summit.
  • Plan and host professional development and networking opportunities for CSU students.
  • Promote student scholarships through fundraisers.
