About the Search
Colorado State University seeks an outstanding leader to serve as its next Provost and Executive Vice President. The Provost and Executive Vice President serves as the #2 position in the Colorado State University Administration, serves on the President’s Executive Leadership Team and serves as the institution’s Chief Academic Officer. This position reports directly to the president and works in concert with the president, deans, vice presidents and the campus community to strengthen the university’s reputation as an internationally recognized land-grant institution of higher education with the highest Carnegie ranking.
The Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs manages reporting line authority for the following areas: Vice President for Research; Vice President for Student Affairs; Assistant Vice President for Student Success; Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs; Vice Provost for Graduate Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School; Vice Provost for International Affairs; Vice Provost for Planning and Effectiveness; Associate Provost and Director of the Association for Undergraduate Education at Research Universities (UERU); Director of the School of Global Environmental Sustainability; Executive Director of the Collaborative for Student Achievement & University Academic Advising; the Office of the Chair of the Faculty Council; and Deans of the Libraries and eight academic colleges: Agricultural Sciences, Business, Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, Warner College of Natural Resources, Natural Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The Provost, in their capacity as chief executive officer of the academic enterprise, serves as an ex officio member of the Faculty Council Executive Committee. This list is not exhaustive.
