CSU names Scott Roberts Vice President for University Advancement
December 4, 2024
Dear Colleagues,
Today it is my pleasure to announce that Scott Roberts will join the Colorado State University community as our new Vice President for University Advancement. Scott comes to us from the Oklahoma State University Foundation, where he serves as Vice President of Development. He will begin his new role here on January 6, 2025.
Scott is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years of experience in higher education development, donor engagement and alumni relations. Before serving at OSU, Scott was President and CEO of the University of Connecticut Foundation. He also served the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement and as President of the UNLV Foundation. Through these roles at three other large land grant Carnegie R1 institutions, Scott has exceeded ambitious fundraising goals, mentored effective teams and created strong partnerships with faculty and administrators.
At CSU, Scott will be responsible for leading our University Advancement team and engaging with alumni, friends, industry partners and foundations to generate private support. He will oversee Advancement’s four areas: alumni relations, development, central advancement services and constituent engagement. Scott’s experience in planning and executing major fundraising campaigns will support CSU’s efforts to elevate its capital campaigns, annual giving programs, and special initiatives.
Scott earned his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and his bachelor’s degree from College of the Ozarks. He has a decades long history of serving the broader community on nonprofit and public boards and committees, as well as in volunteer leadership positions for professional organizations.
As we congratulate Scott, I’d like to express appreciation to the search committee, chaired by Vice President for Student Affairs Blanche Hughes, for conducting a collaborative and thorough nationwide search. I am also grateful to Brett Anderson and Kyle Henley for their willingness to serve as co-interim leaders of University Advancement for the past three months.
In this critical position, Scott will serve as a member of my Cabinet and of the Executive Leadership Team, and he will partner with me, the Provost, Deans, Vice Presidents and the campus community. We’re confident that with Scott on our team, we can lift CSU Advancement to the next level in support of our mission. I look forward to working closely with Scott and invite you to join me in welcoming him to our Ram community.
Sincerely,
Amy
