Dear CSU Community,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 academic year at Colorado State University! This year’s incoming class is one of the largest, most academically qualified and diverse classes ever to arrive at CSU. This special group is infusing our campus with so much fresh energy and excitement, and we are eager to see the impact they will make. Thanks to the staff, faculty and volunteers who orchestrated orientation, move-in and Ram Welcome. Your involvement eases the transition to university life and shows students what it means to be part of the Ramily. As both president and the parent of two CSU students, I appreciate all you do to make it a positive experience for students and families.

Tomorrow we celebrate our first-year students at convocation. This spirited event marks the beginning of a transformative journey along a path that generations of Rams have forged. Students, whether you are returning to CSU or are new to campus, we are thrilled you are part of our thriving academic community, and we are ready to support your success. And when you graduate, we will welcome you into the largest and most engaged alumni network in the state.

As we launch into this new semester, I also want to express sincere appreciation for our faculty and staff. You are responsible for delivering a world-class education to thousands of students each year, you advance world-leading research, and you drive our community impact across the state and around the globe. You are the foundation of excellence at CSU, with talent and dedication that is second-to-none.

Together as faculty, staff and students, we have an important opportunity this year. As a cutting-edge land grant institution, CSU is committed to fostering civic engagement, upholding the First Amendment and promoting civil dialogue. With the November election approaching, our collective civic participation is more significant than ever. Many students will be voting for the first time, and we encourage everyone to stay informed and involved.

Each of you make CSU an exceptional place to learn, work and grow. I look forward to seeing you at events across campus this year. Let’s work together to build on our institution’s 154-year legacy and make it the best year yet.

Go Rams!
